Adidas has made a series of senior management appointments across Europe. Nicolas Favre, the Marketing Director of Adidas France, has been promoted to the post of General Manager for the French subsidiary of the German sport group, owner of Adidas and Reebok. He succeeds Guillaume de Montplanet, who was appointed Senior VP Consumer Direct Channels, Europe, last October.

Nicolas Favre joined Adidas in 1998 as a Product Manager, and then climbed up the corporate marketing ladder, eventually being co-opted onto the management committee of Adidas France. Favre, 46, will report to Gavin Thomson, Senior VP Western Europe for Adidas.

The German sport group has also announced another two senior-level promotions in Europe: Marta Ríos, the Marketing Director for Adidas Iberia, has now been appointed General Manager of the region, and Franck Denglos was put in charge of Italy.

"The new appointments are all operational, and will allow the group and its brands, Adidas and Reebok, to continue along their highly dynamic growth path in Europe," wrote the group, which posted a 7% sales increase in Western Europe in the third quarter of the 2017 fiscal year.
