Carmen Jordá, a Spanish F1 development driver, has been announced as the latest face of Adidas by Stella McCartney, joining Karlie Kloss and Caroline Wozniacki as part of the label’s team.

As a high-profile race car driver, Jordá reflects a trend for brands to pick ambassadors as much for what they do as how they look, although it's undeniable that she also looks good.

The company said she undergoes vigorous training in various disciplines, including weight training and yoga, making her a good fit for a brand that champions and encourages women who embrace a variety of workouts.

Adidas by Stella McCartney said the 28-year old, who is currently a development driver for the Renault F1 team, inspires women everywhere by continually pushing herself and the expectations of her industry.

“It’s been 10 years since we introduced the concept of stylish, technology-led sportswear, back when no one thought it was possible to combine the two. Since then, we’ve gone from strength-to-strength and Carmen epitomises that journey,” McCartney said.

“I work in a very male-dominated industry, so I constantly have to prove I deserve to be where I am. This creates a unique environment, but I push myself everyday to improve and bring myself closer to achieving my dreams," said Jordá.

Other Adidas by Stella McCartney ambassadors include fitness-focused supermodel Karlie Kloss, who presented the autumn/winter 2016 collection, Danish professional tennis player Caroline Wozniacki and Spanish tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza.
