Grebstein will bring over 20 plus years of retail marketing experience to JCPenney. She heads to the department store company from Lowe’s Home Improvement where she served as Chief Marketing Officer and played a key role in driving an integrated and data-driven omnichannel marketing approach to build customer loyalty.

Prior to joining Lowe’s, Grebstein worked for Food Lion of Delhaize America as VP of Marketing and Brand Strategy and spent 16 years at Staples.

At JCPenney, she will report to Chairman and CEO Marvin R. Ellison.

"Marci is an outstanding senior leader with a proven track record of developing winning marketing strategies for a diverse cross-section of leading national retailers," said Ellison. "As we focus on enhancing our Home Refresh strategy, better utilizing customer data and optimizing our omnichannel capabilities, her broad retail expertise will be invaluable as we seek to differentiate our business through strategic marketing initiatives that will entice new and loyal customers to choose JCPenney for their homes and families."

JCPenney hires Grebstein a few months after launching a new Home Services program at 100 stores in March. Ellison said with the launch that JCPenney has a “tremendous opportunity to capture additional revenue” by catering to female homeowners, who represent over 70% of the JCPenney customer.

Also according to Ellison, the new Home Services program presents a low-risk opportunity to drive sales.
