Nicola Brandolese left eyewear giant Luxottica in May to join French luxury group LVMH. His role within the group has not yet been announced.

"For the time being, he is undergoing training at Fendi," a source close to the matter told FashionNetwork.com, confirming rumours reported by the financial press. "He has not yet been assigned to a specific post."

Nicola Brandolese had joined the eyewear group in 2012 to lead the brand's digital transformation strategy. Since 2016, he helmed the global retail department. Brandolese gained a degree in Science, Engineering, Management and Production from the Politecnico di Milano in 1996, and an MA in General Management and Corporate Finance from Babson College in 1998. Since then, he has since served at companies including British telecommunications operator Sky and in consulting, for the The Boston Consulting Group, where he led marketing and sales.

Last year, another Luxottica executive, Sunglass Hut chief marketing officer Fabio d'Angelantonio, departed the eyewear company to take up a role at LVMH and to take over management at luxury textiles apparel label Loro Piana.
