NYFW combines men's and women's shows for February

New York Fashion Week is integrating its women’s and men’s shows into a 10-day schedule from February 5 through 14.

NYFW

2015 was the last year that women’s and men’s shows shared the NYFW schedule. NYFW: Men’s debuted in July 2015 and has since showed separately from the women’s week biannually in February and July. Though the shows will be held together again, the first three days of the schedule will be devoted entirely to the men’s shows.

NYFW: Men’s will kick off NYFW at Cadillac House, Pier 59 Studios, and Skylight Modern on Monday, February 5 and will run for only three days (one less day than past seasons), ending on Wednesday, February 7. The women’s shows will follow, beginning on Thursday, February 8 and ending on Wednesday, February 14.

The change in schedule will give traveling buyers, brands and editors time to relax after twenty-one straight days on the road for Pitti Uomo, fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris, and Haute Couture from January 22 through 25.

NYFW is expected to be at Spring Studios in February, since Skylight Clarkson Square and Skylight Moynihan Station are no longer hosting the fashion week. IMG Fashion announced in September that the venues would not host NYFW after September 2017 and then announced Spring Studios as the new venue for the fashion week.

Michael Kors, Altuzarra, Diane von Furstenberg and Jeremy Scott have held runway shows at Spring Studios over the years.
