Spanish footwear brand Pikolinos has made a change at the top, appointing Manel Jadraque as its new CEO. Jadraque was formerly the CEO of Spanish fashion retailer Desigual, and has extensive industry experience.

Jadraque worked for Desigual between 2004 and 2015, starting out as COO and gradually rising to the top of Desigual’s management team. Before Desigual, he also worked for Louis Vuitton and Loewe and, after leaving the Catalan group, he took charge of French fashion retailer Jennyfer, for which he worked until last April, when he was replaced by Michel Maire.

As FashionNetwork.com learned from Pikolinos, Jadraque takes over from current General Manager George Bassoul. Bassoul was at the helm of Pikolinos for more than 6 years, during which time Pikolinos broadened its international footprint, topping the €100 million revenue mark.

Pikolinos was founded in 1984 and is based in Elche, Spain. It currently employs more than 600 people and markets its products via more than 8,000 stores worldwide. Recently, Pikolinos has sought to grow outside its domestic market, and in 2018 it opened its first stores in Berlin and Miami, and its third store in Belgium.

From the end of 2016, Pikolinos has been led by executive president Juan Manuel Perán, son of the company’s founder. Perán’s sister, Rosa Ana Perán, is the company’s vice president, while their father Juan Perán is now Pikolinos’s honorary president.
