Trussardi has strengthened its leadership team by appointing a manager from outside the group. The Italian luxury label has announced in a press release that Massimo Dell’Acqua is its new Managing Director, reporting to CEO Tomaso Trussardi, who until now was in sole charge of the group, with the support of his family.

Last September, Massimo Dell’Acqua joined the board of directors of Finos Ltd, the holding company that controls the Trussardi brand. Finos is owned by Tomaso Trussardi (50%), his sister Gaia (25%) and their mother, Maria Luisa Gavazzeni (25%). Dell'Acqua's initial role as external adviser has now become a fully fledged management post.

Massimo Dell'Acqua has a 20-year experience in the retail industry and will be in charge of "the group's organisation and business management." He will specifically pay "special attention to the Trussardi brand's repositioning strategy, and to leveraging the opportunities that the digital revolution is creating in the fashion industry."

The group's other priorities are retail expansion, e-commerce and the Trussardi Food division.

In the press release, Tomaso Trussardi said that "development and growth require a more efficient entrepreneurial organisation and an increasingly accomplished running of the business."

Massimo Dell’Acqua, 47, worked for Percassi, an Italian group specialised in distribution and real estate, for which he managed beauty retailer Kiko for 11 years, before taking charge in December 2015 of Odissea, a Percassi company dedicated to brand management and retail expansion.
