The Andam prize 2022 is expanding, putting up an exceptional €600,000 purse and featuring five awards, consolidating its role as France’s key support event for emerging designers. The competition, organised by the French association for the development of arts and fashion (Andam), has opened applications for its 33rd edition, announcing also that the prize money has increased by €100,000 (it was €500,000 in 2021, and €450,000 before then), and that a new award has been created.

The new ‘grand special prize’, worth €100,000, will be offered in addition to the usual four prizes: the Andam grand prize, worth €300,000; the Pierre Bergé prize, which replaces the creative label prize, worth €100,000; the fashion accessories prize, worth €50,000; and the innovation prize, first introduced in 2017, with a €50,000 purse.

Winners will also benefit from a mentorship programme offered by the sponsors. The patron of the 2022 edition will be Bruno Pavlovsky, president of fashion at Chanel. Pavlovsky will act as mentor for the winners of the first two prizes, while Stefano Martinetto, founder and CEO of Tomorrow, will mentor the winner of the Pierre Bergé prize; Frédéric Maus, managing director of WSN, will do the same for the fashion accessories prize; and Yann Gozlan, founder and president of start-up and business incubator network Creative Valley, will do the honours for the winner of the innovation prize. The latter will be supported by other industry specialists too, for an all-round mentorship lasting one year.

Applications are open until March 31 on andam.fr. The jury panel will be announced in February 2022, and the finalists will be selected at the end of May, while the award ceremony for the 2022 winners is scheduled for June 30 2022.
