Arket, one of H&M’s newest clothing brands, has added one more store to its UK portfolio with the opening of a new shop at Bullring in Birmingham this week.

The regional flagship store spreads over 13,000 square feet on the shopping centre’s upper level. Designed by an in-house team in line with the brand’s “modern-day market” identity, the space includes a café serving vegetarian and vegan food inspired by Nordic cuisine.

This is Arket’s fifth store in the UK, joining locations in London, Kent and Liverpool. The brand was launched in August 2017 by H&M as a destination for “essential products” for men, women and children, and with a mission to “democratise quality” via affordable and durable products.

“It is a significant achievement for Bullring, as well as Birmingham, that Arket selected the centre for continued expansion across the UK,” commented Iain Mitchell, commercial director at Hammerson.

The shopping centre has also recently announced Hugo as a new tenant, and beauty retailer Morphe will shortly open its first store outside London and second in the UK.

“With the recent addition of Hugo and NYX and Morphe coming soon, Arket is a fantastic flagship addition to our leading aspirational fashion line-up. I am confident the unique offer will be extremely popular with our shoppers,” Mitchell continued.

Hammerson said Bullring is one of Europe’s most successful shopping destinations, visited by over 36 million people annually. Home to 53 brands, the shopping centre recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.
