The owners of Danish group Bestseller, Allan Warburg, Dan Friis and Anders Holch Povlsen, have recently acquired Swedish brand J.Lindeberg. The trio of investors, who also own 20% of Asos, have just bought the ready-to-wear label from investment company Proventus, which had acquired J.Lindeberg in 2007.

“After a successful turnaround J.Lindeberg is ready to enter into a new phase. The new owners will add relevant experience and resources to invest in further expansion of the company”, Proventus CEO Daniel Sachs stated in a press release.

Founded in 1997, J.Lindeberg is headquartered in Stockholm. It sells clothes for men and women as well as golf and ski collections in more than 30 countries worldwide. Its flagship stores are located in Sweden, USA and Japan or at ski stations in Austria and Switzerland.

The brand will maintain its autonomy and operate separately from the Bestseller group, which includes brands such as Jack & Jones, VeroModa, Only and Mamalicious. To drive J.Lindeberg’s development, the new owners are relying on the team in place: CEO Jonas Meerits and global brand director Stefan Engström will remain in their positions and as shareholders in the business.
