Superdrug has opened its biggest store in Scotland at the Braehead Shopping Centre, Glasgow, with the new location offering a wide range of products and services.

Covering 9,324sq ft, it carries exclusive brands, a strong luxury fragrance offer including YSL, Viktor & Rolf, Prada and Valentino, with “regular purse-friendly promotions on perfume and aftershave”; the retailer’s new own-brand cosmetics range, Studio London; as well as other best-selling collections B.Skin, Me+, Vitamin E, Optimum and Naturally Radiant. Make-up brand Milani and “trending brands” such as  Bourjois and 3INA are also available there.

The store has a nurse’s clinic and the retailer’s expanding Beauty Studio that offers “professional treatments at affordable prices”, including nail, lash and piercing services.

The company has been opening a number of new stores in recent months, rolling out new brands to key locations, as well as opening its beauty marketplace.

And its initiatives have clearly been paying off with Superdrug saying it grew both sales and market share over the crucial Christmas shopping season.

The extra investment in premium fragrances at Braehead is no surprise given that this was a top-performing category for the festive season.

It also said cosmetics sales were back to pre-Covid Christmas 2019 levels.
