Luxury handbag subscription rental service Cocoon has announced its first ever pop-up shop with a debut at Harvey Nichols in London’s Knightsbridge.

It launched on Friday and will be open for three months, offering shoppers “the chance to try on bags in the Cocoon collection, meet the Cocoon team and learn more about membership”.

Existing members will also be able to drop off their current bags in-store and swap them for new styles on display.

The pop-up contains a “highly curated edit from the collection, which will rotate on a weekly basis. Shoppers can expect to find new season trend bags, pre-owned classics and vintage styles from brands such as Prada, Fendi, Gucci and Bottega Veneta, all available to access with membership”.

New members can sign up at Harvey Nichols and “walk away with a handbag the same day once their membership is approved”.

Co-founder and CEO Ceanne Fernandes-Wong said: “We are incredibly excited about our first physical membership pop-up in Harvey Nichols and we look forward to connecting with the community in real life. Harvey Nichols… understands that customers are asking for innovative sustainable solutions and that they are open to circular models in addition to buying new.”

Earlier this year, Kering invested in London-based Cocoon's latest funding round, alongside earlier backers such as Depop founder Simon Beckerman and entrepreneur Lilly Wollman.
