Bryan Timm has been named the new president of American group Columbia Sportswear. Having worked at the outdoor company group for 17 years, Timm previously served as chief operating officer, a position that he retains in addition to the presidency. Tim Boyle, meanwhile, president and CEO of the group since 1988, will retain his position as CEO.

Peter Bragdon, formerly senior vice president of legal and corporate affairs at Columbia Sportswear, has been promoted to the newly created position of chief administrative officer and general counsel. Tom Cusick, in turn, has been promoted to the new position of executive vice president of finance and CFO.

The changes reflect the group's growth, which saw sales increase by 25% during its 2014 fiscal year, passing the two billion dollar mark in turnover for the first time.

At the same time, the groups two main brands, Columbia and Sorel, are being reorganized. Joe Boyle has just been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of the Columbia brand merchandising and design. Having joined Columbia Sportswear 10 years ago, Boyle previously served as vice president of apparel merchandising.

Mark Nenow has been named to the newly created position of president of the Sorel brand. He joined the group in 2007, serving as vice president of global footwear merchandising and design for the entire group (Columbia, Sorel and Montrail footwear).
