Britain’s biggest luxury watchmaker, Bremont, on Monday announced a new CEO with industry veteran Davide Cerrato joining in the top role and becoming a board member.

The company said that “bolstering Bremont's in-house capabilities, Cerrato brings with him extensive experience in branding, product design and development, supply-chain management, and production”.

The news of his appointment follows January’s £48.4 million ($59 million) investment by Bill Ackman and Hellcat LP, with the company saying it’s “now well positioned to execute on its future plans for growth”.

Cerrato has a strong track record having worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Roelx’s sister brand Tudor, Montblanc and Panerai.

He’d been Tudor’s Head of Marketing, Design & Product Development where he oversaw the relaunch of the brand and the design of its Black Bay watch in 2012. That watch is now among the label’s most successful and popular products.

After that, he became MD of Montblanc's watch division and again had a big impact on product development, creating the 1858 Geosphere watch that “became the hero product for Montblanc and established the company's watch brand identity”.

Most recently he was CEO and Creative Director of HYT.

Bremont Co-Founder Nick English described him as “a world class CEO” and added that he’ll “support our ambitious vision for Bremont”.

Co-founder Giles English added that he has “amazing, complementary experience and is a great cultural fit”.
