Fragonard, the Provençal marque par excellence, has teamed up with designer Thierry Colson to create a new summer collection.

Working together with Agnès and Françoise Costa, the heirs to the Fragonard marque, Colson has developed a limited-edition selection that begins retailing next month.

Fans of Colson’s designs, the sisters invited him to discover the galleries and archives of the Fragonard Museum devoted to Provençal costumes. Giving birth to this capsule collection, which takes its inspiration from floral patterns, 18th-century prints and poetry.

Composed of over a dozen pieces, including blouses, skirts and dresses, all artfully embroidered, the collection will be available from June 2021 exclusively in the Fragonard boutiques, both in Provence or at the brand’s Paris store near Opéra.

Stripes, floral ornaments and bright colors are the key chords in this charming alliance. Three iconic looks show the hero pieces of the collection - the Vladia saffron-stripe blouse; the Robe Eva Chintz Lavande and the Eva dress with saffron stripes - priced from €150 to €250, and available in a range of colors.

A graduate of Studio Berçot fashion college, Colson has consulted for the likes of Chloé, Hermès, Lacoste and Jil Sander. While his own label blends Indian influences and know-how from weaving to block prints, with his roots in France. And now in Provence with Fragonard.
