Salvatore Ferragamo have called on the skills of a noted Frankfurt City Ballet alum for their the latest ad campaign.

Stephen Galloway, the former principal dancer at the Ballet Frankfurt, has choreographed Ferragamo’s new fast-paced 45-second ad clip.  Five models - Nataliya Bulycheva, Imari, Songhwa Oh, Liam Kelly, Alton Mason - prance, leap and vogue to highlight the flexibility of the clothes by the house’s creative Paul Andrew.

Join the Movement, Salvatore Ferragamo's latest campaign choreographed by Stephen Galloway

Entitled 'Join the Movement,' the co-ed campaign breaks three weeks after the Florentine luxury brand announced plans to return to the Milan menswear season, after a hiatus of four seasons when it showed in its hometown of Florence.

“For this holiday season we wanted to emphasize the joy generated by inhabiting garments that afford a full, free range of effortless movement - and there’s no better platform for that than dance,” said Andrew.

Though shot in color by photographer Bibi Borthwick, the cast are largely dressed in black. The gals in coats, jackets, skirts, jumpsuits and dresses in inky toned leathers and silks with dashes of rhinestone; their faces made up with silver speckles – all anchored with a new jewel-like new pump and Trifolio bag. The guys in snappy suits, Norfolk jackets and techy leather biker jackets; shod in Ferragamo’s classic bench-made Tramezza Oxford, given a 21st-century upgrade via a high-tech silicone finish.

This holiday collection will appear in Salvatore Ferragamo flagship store windows worldwide and digitally as the luxury marque rolls out the video campaign across social platforms.

Under the guidance of the legendary William Forsythe, Galloway was the principal dancer for 18 years in Frankfurt, though he is also noted for his costume design and as a creative movement consultant, notably with photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, whose joint shoots have appeared in W Magazine and Vogue.

The Ferragamo cast put in a performance, though not perhaps at the level of Galloway’s most famous client. He is called Mick Jagger.
