Maquistador, the French footwear specialist, has unveiled a new linkup with the country’s most famous interior fabrics maker, Pierre Frey.

Enamored by the decorative arts, Camille Lesage, the founder of Maquistador, dreamed up this collection of indoor shoes exclusively made in four fabrics sourced from the upholstery manufacturer.
“The chance of a lifetime gave me the opportunity to meet Pierre Frey soon after starting Maquistador. He is the grandson of the founder of this eponymous house, so it was in full complicity that we were able to combine each other’s French savoir-faire,” said Lesage.
After selecting some samples, Lesage entrusted them to a workshop in the rural Drôme region, which, with delicacy, gave birth to this vibrant collaboration of moccasins de la mode.

As a first step, the duo chose four predesigned fabrics – a bold, orange-tinted stripe; a black-and-white Chinoiserie; a eucalyptus-hued weave; and a marbleized green ideal for playing snooker in a Scottish castle – all from four different universes. All priced at €225, and available within three weeks of ordering.
“The love of fine work, the cult of detail and the impetus of creation” are the values of the collection, as stated by Frey.
Clients can also go directly to Paris-based Pierre Frey to make a personal selection of their preferred fabric, with a personalized service offered by the house.
