Gucci has announced a collaboration with Ōura, a Finnish firm specialised in health-monitoring wearables. Together, they have created a smart ring able to provide accurate, tailored information on the wearer's health, as well as daily well-being insights and advice. The ring will also act as a bridge between the Gucci and Ōura communities, especially for those customers seeking better health and self-fulfilment.

The ring weighs only 4 g and is made of titanium, enhanced by the interlocking double G monogram in 18 carat gold. It features Ōura’s newest Generation 3 technology and is equipped with sensors and components used in medical research to monitor the body’s main health parameters.

“The Gucci x Ōura ring’s state-of-the-art sensors track the heart rate, respiratory rate and body temperature, charting the effects of stress and the presence of any illnesses. By measuring the heart rate from the arteries present in the finger, the ring captures a much more intense pulse signal compared to wrist wearables. The ring’s sleep monitoring functionality analyses sleep quality based on the main body parameters during each sleeping phase,” the partners stated, adding that “every day, these personalised metrics produce a score quantifying Sleep, Activity and Energy, whose status can be checked in conjunction with tailored insights and advice. The user-friendly Ōura app interprets the signals broadcast by the ring wearer’s body and features scientifically verified content, enabling the wearer to perform their daily activities to the best of their abilities.”

The ring is available on the Gucci e-shop and at select stores worldwide. The launch is supported by an impactful advertising campaign showing the ring’s high-tech, interactive functionalities in a playful clip entitled ‘A Journey of Self-discovery’. The video follows the protagonist during her frenetic everyday life, showing how she is able to make the most of her day thanks to the ring and the Ōura app’s advice.
