Gym+Coffee partners with The Great Run Company

Fast-growing Irish athleisure brand Gym+Coffee has announced a partnership with the UK’s biggest mass participation sports events organiser, The Great Run Company. It will be the official activewear partner of its well-known Great Run Series. The deal will start with the Great Birmingham Run on May 1 and will continue for two years.

The agreement will see it supporting all participants throughout the Great Run training programme, “providing them with the opportunity to be part of Gym+Coffee’s community of Great Runners for pre-event guidance, access to an event day hub and rewards”.

It's an important marketing channel for the company as each year the Great Run Series includes over 170,000 runners across seven races in cities across England and Scotland. And as well as attracting thousands of runners and fans every year, two of its key races (the Great North Run and the Great Manchester Run) are broadcast live on the BBC.

Company co-founder Diarmuid McSweeney said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the brand to reach out to a new audience and introduce them to Gym+Coffee.”

The brand, which is only five years old, has been expanding fast through physical locations in the UK and currently has seven retail clubhouses in its domestic market and in Britain. It has also been picking up more sponsorship deals such as this.
