Inditex is applying remote working as much as possible, in accordance with the needs and characteristics of each position and department. Other measures taken by the company to contain the virus have thus far included the temporary suspension of the gym and bus services at its Galician HQ. This plan of action will also be implemented in the group's offices in Tordera, in the province of Barcelona.

The company, which plans to report its annual financial results on 18 March, has also limited external visits to its HQ. Journalists will therefore have to listen to the financial presentation via telephone, rather than attending the event in person,as is the custom at the company, currently led by Pablo Isla

According to the predictions of Credit Suisse, the effect of the novel coronavirus on the company's first-quarter sales could lead to a decline of up to 1.7%. In Italy, the Swiss bank predicts that Inditex will see a decrease of 12% in its sales during the same period. The Galician group currently operates 390 stores in Italy, representing 5.5% of the company's total revenues.
