Mooney served at IBM iX from September 2017 to May 2018, prior to which she held a range of different executive roles, including CEO, president and chief experience officer, at digital marketing firm Resource/Ammirati.

During her time with the company, she helped transform Resource/Ammirati into one of the largest independent, female-led digital agencies in the US, before selling the firm to IBM in 2016, at which point it became part of IBM iX.

The Ohio State University graduate also serves on the board of directors of Sally Beauty Holdings.

“Kelly has a wealth of experience in customer insight, digital marketing and e-commerce, and I am truly excited to welcome her to J.Jill’s Board of Directors,” said J.Jill Chairman Michael Rahamim in a release. “Her cutting-edge expertise in these crucial areas will be extremely valuable as J.Jill positions itself for growth.”

“I am honored to be joining J. Jill's Board of Directors,” added Mooney. “I admire J.Jill’s commitment to its ongoing evolution as a brand and its focus on delivering exceptional omni-channel shopping experiences for women.”

Mooney joins the retailer as it plans to boost its customer engagement following a year during which it pushed hard to improve its sales, which totaled $706.3 million in 2018, up from $698.1 million in the previous year.

Her appointment is effective immediately.
