The highlight of the nine-hour auction was the sale of a pink gold wristwatch manufactured by Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe in 1968, which fetched 2 million francs, more than double its pre-auction estimate worth.

Another high point was the sale of a Rolex worn by actor Roger Moore as the spy character James Bond in the film "Live and Let Die" for 219,000 francs.

Some 222 sellers from 39 countries, many from China, took part in the auction, Christie's auction house said.
