Karl Lagerfeld is heading for Germany, his native country. Three Karl Lagerfeld concept stores will open their doors between Berlin and Munich in the coming months, along with a first Lagerfeld boutique carrying the brand's menswear line.

The first launch of a 100-square meter store in Berlin is scheduled for July 1, the same day as the opening of Bread & Butter. The retail space is located at 8 Neue Schonhauser and is graced with a historic façade (photo above) and technology features used in the brand's two Paris stores.

The second Karl Lagerfeld store will be located in Munich and is set to open in September at 6 Maffeistrasse. This 180 square meter space will be located near the city's top fashionista address, Theresa, which later inspired the e-commerce luxury website, MyTheresa.com.

On July 4, a new 80-square-meter shop will open in Munich, exclusively carrying the Lagerfeld brand's menswear line. Located in the city’s "Fünf Höfe" shopping district, it will offer the Lagerfeld men's collections, including ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories.

"As Germany is Karl Lagerfeld’s home country, we have a special affinity with the country," said Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of the brand. It’s a key market for our brand and we are devoted to expanding our presence and availability here. We look forward to opening our new stores and the opportunity to deliver our accessible luxury collections to German customers."

Following these initial two concept stores, a third is expected to open in early 2014 at Leipziger Platz in Berlin. This Karl Lagerfeld location will be developed in collaboration with architects Plajer & Franz.
