French luxury house Louis Vuitton and the NBA professional basketball league have announced their third partnership. This summer season, an exclusive leather goods collection designed by the brand’s late creative director, Virgil Abloh, in celebration of the NBA’s 75th anniversary, is set to launch on June 2, 2022 on the Louis Vuitton online store.

The collection includes a backpack, a Keepall travel bag, a wallet, a Woody eyewear case, a blue leather duffle bag and a water bottle holder bearing the label's iconic monogram along with the NBA logo in red, blue and white. Prices range from 610 euros for the wallet to 4,300 euros for the backpack.

It’s not the first time that Louis Vuitton has taken an interest in sports. The brand has been in partnership with the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) for several year. For the 79th edition of the Formula 1 Grand Prix a few days ago, the label designed a travel trunk in Monaco’s colors to carry the trophies.

Louis Vuitton has also been a partner of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) since 2010. For the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the fashion house presented a capsule collection that featured an assortment of bags, such as the Keepall and the Apollo, wallets and luggage tags displaying the flags of several countries around the world.

For the Rugby World Cup France 2023, the label produced in its historic workshops in Asnières, a trunk to house the trophy of the international competition.

Louis Vuitton has a network of over 460 stores in 66 different countries. In fiscal year 2021, the brand’s sales reached 64.2 billion euros.
