Dubbed “Lush Naked Shop”, the location on Alexanderplatz uses no plastic packaging on any of its products including some 240 alternatives to packaged cosmetics.

Following in the foot steps of its first Naked Shop, opened earlier this year in June in Milan, the location favours plastic-free products from its “Naked Line” like the first-ever solid shampoo bar which saves nearly 6 million plastic bottles yearly, and, more recently, a solid alternative to liquid shower gel. Other products include solid body lotions, shower bombs, facial oils, serums and more.

“We are really excited to bring this idea to Berlin, one of the greenest cities in the world. We can’t wait to see how people react to it,” said Mark Constantine OBE, Lush co-founder and managing director, in a news statement.

To celebrate the new shop, Lush has also released ten new vegan, self-preserving, zero waste skincare products available online so everyone can go plastic free.

As of 2018, 65 percent of Lush's regular products are totally unpackaged. The company founded 23 years ago is committed to combating over-packaging by running public awareness campaigns and developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the consumer without any packaging.
