It's a Beverly Hills landmark that's on its way out. Maison Margiela, which has been located at 9970 Santa Monica Boulevard since 2017, will close its doors in a few days, the brand founded by the Belgian designer having found a new address at 8451 Melrose Place.

According to sources inside the OTB group, the Jil Sander brand, which is also part of the Italian group's portfolio, will take its place. Architectural firm Johnston Marklee, which oversaw the original store, will be in charge of the new interior design project.

Work will begin in early January and the opening of the new Jil Sander store won't take place before the end of that month.

As a direct consequence of the closure of Maison Margiela in Beverly Hills, the Mameg multi-brand store, adjacent to the Margiela location, will also move. Founded by Sonia Eram in the early 1990s in the Brentwood neighborhood, the boutique has sold many luxury brands including Walter Van Beirendonck, Jil Sander and Hussein Chalayan. It will move in early January to a temporary store at 357 North La Brea before returning to Beverly Hills in a few months' time.
