Michael Kors is making his mark on Asia with a new flagship store in Singapore's Mandarin Gallery, and a new accessories collection to match.

The store holds the dual honor of being the US fashion brand's largest in Southeast Asia, as well as the first freestanding store in the region to carry the label's menswear collection. After opening earlier in the season, it was visited by Kors this week, and the brand took the opportunity to unveil a limited-edition handbag range to mark the occasion.

The collection comprises a trio of handbags -- the 'Rhea Extra-Small Leather Backpack', the 'Jet Set Travel Large Leather Crossbody' and the 'Daniela Large Leather Wristlet'. The Rhea and the Jet Set have been fabricated in a new 'Cherry' colorway to reference the Singaporean flag, while the Daniela features a patchwork combination of hues.

Each of the bags includes a limited-edition plaque attached to its interior, and will be available throughout the festive season while supplies last. A series of six stickers, including a chili crab inspired by the nation's local cuisine and an orchid inspired by its national flower, complete the collection.

The new boutique will carry everything from handbags and small leather goods from both the brand's 'Michael Kors Collection' and 'Michael Michael Kors' lines, to watches, jewelry, eyewear and select fragrances, with a dedicated 'shoe salon' for footwear and a personal stylist service in the women's ready-to-wear department.

At approximately 6,957 square feet, the space features a shimmering façade comprising luminous screens and reflective facets, as a reference to Kors's signature use of metallics. The minimalist aesthetic is carried through to the interior, which includes dark wooden floors bordered by limestone, brushed stainless steel shelves, and a weathered limestone 'runway'.

The brand's typically elegant and understated color palette is reflected in the soft browns and grays planned for the décor scheme, and in the gray oak flooring, gray-embossed leather wall coverings and blackened stainless steel fixtures covering the store's upper level, which is dedicated to men's ready-to-wear and accessories.
