Having been appointed to lead Italian textiles show Milano Unica in September 2011, on Tuesday 8th September Silvio Albini opened his last exhibition as president.
At the end of the opening ceremony, he announced the name of his successor, who will begin by taking charge of the organisation of Milano Unica's next edition in February 2016.
The appointee is Ercole Botto Poala, 44, Board Chairman since 2003 of Reda, a historic wool manufacturer founded in 1865 in Valle Mosso, in the renowned Biella wool-making district located in Piedmont, Italy. Reda reported revenues for € 80 million.
"After our family company, it's the second time that I take charge of a smoothly running operation such as Milano Unica. It's a great honour for me and I pledge to make this show increasingly unique," future president Ercole Botto Poala, visibly moved, has immediately commented.
The Italian entrepreneur is also vice-president of Ideabiella, the consortium of wool-weaving specialists from Biella.
