Nina Ricci announces the departure of its artistic director Peter Copping

Parisian fashion house Nina Ricci confirmed the departure of Peter Copping, its British artistic director since April 2009.

"It was a great pleasure to occupy the position of creative director and to become part of the history of this prestigious label", Peter Copping stated in a press release. He presented his last collection for Nina Ricci on 25 September.

President of the Fashion Division of Spanish group Puig, parent company of Nina Ricci, Ralph Toledano thanked the designer "for his contribution to the legacy of the house and for his commitment to the label for the past five years".

He also hailed his creative vision, "a major factor in the re-launch of the brand".

Nina Ricci "will shortly announce the name of its new creative director", specified the press release. Rumour has is that the position will be filled by Guillaume Henry, the former artistic director of Carven, whose departure was confirmed a few days ago.

Other than Nina Ricci, the family-owned Puig Group, with its presence in the perfume and fashion industries, also owns Jean Paul Gaultier and Paco Rabanne.
