After posting record results in 2022, with a revenue of $7.4 billion (€6.84 billion), equivalent to an 18% increase, Skechers is reorganising part of its global business. The US footwear brand has in fact recently signed an agreement to acquire its Scandinavian distributor, Sports Connection Holding, to create a subsidiary in the region.

“We can’t wait to further expand our reach in Europe by combining the Sports Connection team’s local expertise with our global capabilities and financial resources,” said David Weinberg, Chief Operating Officer at Skechers.

Sports Connection has been Skechers’s exclusive partner in Northern Europe since 2005. The company is active in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland and the Faroe Islands, and operates 58 Skechers stores and various e-shops, as well as serving 1,600 multibrand retailers.

Peter Jørgensen, CEO of Sports Connection, will now assume the role of Skechers’s managing director for the Northern European countries.
