“Developing and consistently implementing the Lenzing strategy has been the cornerstone of my work in recent years. After extensive consideration, I have decided that this is the right time for a personal change,” said Doboczky.

His contract will expire at the end of Q3 2021. Cord Prinzhorn has been named CEO ad interim. He has been a member of Lenzing's board since May 2021, and will remain in place until a new CEO will be appointed.

“My sincere thanks go to Stefan Doboczky for his exceptional achievements at Lenzing AG (...) [a group] that has transformed into a global specialist fibre leader and (...) a recognized sustainability champion. Stefan Doboczky has played a driving role in helping Lenzing AG reach this leading position,” said Peter Edelmann, the group’s board chairman.

Lenzing AG, which is already looking for a successor to Doboczky, has confirmed its guidance for 2021, which was published with the latest H1 results.
“Thanks to [Doboczky’s] leadership, Lenzing AG finds itself today on a stable and profitable growth track with a clear commitment to become climate-neutral by 2050. And all of that in spite of the challenging environment of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Edelmann.
