The Children's Place appoints Bluemercury CEO to Its Board of Directors

The Children's Place, Inc. the largest pure-play children's specialty apparel retailer in North America, has announced that it has appointed Marla Malcolm Beck to the company's board of directors, effective immediately.

Beck, 45, is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bluemercury, a retailer and online seller of upscale beauty products and spa services.

Bluemercury was founded in 1999 and acquired by Macy's, Inc. in 2015. Today it operates as a stand-alone business with Beck serving as CEO and reporting directly to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Macy's, Inc.

"Marla is a customer-focused specialty retail visionary who brings broad-based leadership and managerial experience in areas critical to our business, including omni-channel retail, marketing and consumer insights," said Norman Matthews, Chairman of the Board.

The executive currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Retail Federation. Prior to founding Bluemercury, she was a consultant at McKinsey and Company.
